Welcome to Sunshine Therapy and Counselling, a safe and comfortable place to talk. My heart is to help people through difficult seasons of life, whether you are a new mum, going through a divorce, preparing for marriage, in a problematic relationship, experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or just having a tough time figuring life out. I am a wife, and a mother of two adult sons. Previously a primary school teacher, I have a Master of Professional Psychology and a Diploma of Counselling. I am registered with Education Queensland, the Australian Counselling Association, and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. Sunshine Therapy and Counselling offers individual therapy sessions using an evidence-based approach to assist women navigate difficult seasons of life. Are you experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression? Are you in a difficult relationship and need some guidance? Are you trying to make sense of a troubling event, relationship, or navigating a new season of life (motherhood, marriage, divorce, fulltime work, menopause, empty nest)? We provide a safe and comfortable space to talk about it and offer personalized, proven therapy techniques like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and compassion focused therapy (CFT) to help. Sessions can take place in person (Carindale, Brisbane) or via zoom. The clinic address will be provided upon booking confirmation. FAQs

How much does therapy cost?

Sessions at Sunshine Therapy & Counselling are provided by a registered psychologist. Each session is 50 minutes long and costs $200. This fee is deducted via direct debit at the start of each session.

The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee schedule for a psychologist is $311 per session. Our fees reflect our desire to provide affordable services whilst also providing quality care.

Some people are eligible for a rebate via Medicare.

To receive a Medicare rebate, you need to visit your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Bring the MHCP with you to your first appointment or ask your GP to email to the clinic.

Where are the in-clinic sessions held?

In-clinic sessions are held in Jenni’s private home office in Carindale, QLD. Please consider if you are comfortable with attending a private home for your session. It is a quiet, private space and Jenni will do everything to make you comfortable, however, you may prefer an online session.

Do you see male clients?

Jenni has experience treating clients of all ages and genders, however, the focus of the work we do at Sunshine Therapy & Counselling is around the particular psychological needs of women. Please contact the clinic for referrals to other services.

What age do I need to be to make an appointment?

We see clients from ages 15 and above. Parents of clients may book a discovery call and may attend the first 15 minutes of the initial session with the client’s consent.

What do I do if I need to cancel an appointment?

Due to the high demand for appointments, cancellations require at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations inside of 24 hours, will require a $100 fee.

What do I do if I need to contact Jenni?
